River condition forecast on 2017-04-18

River conditions forecasts posted on 2017-04-18 by Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board

Recent precipitation over most of the basin, combined with continued snowmelt in several areas, has caused the flows and levels on the main stem of the Ottawa River between Pembroke and the Montreal region to rise rapidly, with continued minor flooding in low-lying areas. Additional increases in flows and levels are expected over the next few days, with flows and levels between Pembroke and Grenville-Hawksbury possibly reaching levels observed during the 1997 and 1998 freshets.
