Forecast for 2020-05-01

River conditions forecasts posted on 2020-05-01 by Ottawa River Regulating Committee

Spring runoff is increasing steadily in the northern and central portions of the basin due to recent precipitation combined with snowmelt runoff. Reservoirs in the Abitibi-Timiskaming region are expected to store most of the runoff in that region. Levels and flows are expected to increase gradually along the Ottawa River from Mattawa to Lac Coulonge over the next few days and could reach levels similar to those reached earlier in April. Elsewhere, levels and flows are expected to increase gradually over the next few days, but should not be as high as levels reached earlier in April.
