Forecast for 2022-04-29

River conditions forecasts posted on 2022-04-29 by Ottawa River Regulating Committee

Water levels and flows on the main stem of the Ottawa River are increasing in most locations in response to snowmelt from the northern part of the basin combined with recent rainfall. Levels are expected to stabilize starting today or tomorrow depending on locations. Levels in all locations are expected to decline early next week with no significant precipitation forecast. Minor flooding in low-lying areas may occur over the next few days. Low-lying areas are those locations that regularly flood during the spring freshet period. Reservoirs throughout the basin are being used to partially store runoff from the northern areas.
