Forecast for 2023-04-22
River conditions forecasts posted on 2023-04-22 by Ottawa River Regulating Committee
Water levels and flows on the main stem of the Ottawa River continue to rise slowly in most locations in response to ongoing melt of the snowpack in the central and northern parts of the basin. Levels in the Mattawa and Pembroke areas could exceed the minor flooding thresholds over the next week depending on the amount and location of rainfall. Lake Coulonge levels have already exceeded the major flood threshold. From Chats Lake down to the Montreal area, levels are slowly approaching major flood thresholds and are expected to stabilize over the weekend. Rain over the weekend may result in additional level increases in some locations starting Monday, depending on the amount and location of rainfall. Water levels are currently expected to remain well below historical flood levels on the main stem of the Ottawa River in all locations.
