Forecast for 2025-04-23
River conditions forecasts posted on 2025-04-23 by Ottawa River Regulating Committee
Flows and water levels on the main stem of the Ottawa River are rising due to increasing spring runoff. Levels are expected to continue increasing into next week due to forecast rainfall starting this Thursday that will combine with snowmelt from the mountainous parts of the watershed. Minor flood levels may be exceeded in flood prone areas along the river between Lake Coulonge and Lake Deschenes starting Saturday, April 26. The minor flood level is defined as the level at which parts of some streets, lawns and parks are beginning to flood, with no or few houses/buildings being affected. Please refer to the forecast section of our website for more information about the water levels expected in your area. Levels are expected to peak in all locations later next week and should not exceed 107.95 m, 75.35 m and 59.85 m in Lake Coulonge, Chats Lake and Lake Deschenes respectively, based on April 23 weather forecast.
