Report by Ontario’s Special Advisor on Flooding

Bulletins posted on 2019-11-28 by Ottawa River Regulation Secretariat

Ontario released today the report from the Special Advisor on Flooding to the Honourable John Yakabuski, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry: « In his review, Mr. McNeil confirmed that this year’s record-setting flooding in many parts of the province was caused by a combination of weather conditions: colder-than-average winter and spring, higher-than-average snowpack, lack of significant winter thaw, rapid snow melt and significant rain events in the spring. »  You can read the News Release and obtain the report here.

In the coming days, the Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board will be examining the report and considering the important recommendations made by the Special Advisor on Flooding.
