River condition forecast on 2017-05-17
River conditions forecasts posted on 2017-05-17 by Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board
Forecast rainfall of 5 to 15 mm starting tonight, primarily in the northern portion of the basin, is expected to slightly slow water level decline over the next few days. Northern reservoirs are now releasing more water to make room for expected rainfall runoff. This northern discharge combined with further rainfall expected over the weekend may prevent further decline of water levels in southern regions beginning this weekend. As long as waters remain on the flood plain there continues to be a risk of returning to flooding levels in response to possible widespread heavy rainfall events. Residents in low lying areas are encouraged to continue to closely watch for updates in forecasts.
