River Conditions – Chats Falls

As a result of higher than average inflows within the Ottawa River, it is expected that the flows and velocities within Chats Lake down through Chats Falls generating station will remain quite high over the coming weeks. Additionally with high flows, it is also expected that the levels within the Chats Falls forebay immediately upstream of the generating station will remain lower than normal for this time of year in order to mitigate higher levels on Chats Lake. These conditions within the Chats Falls location are anticipated to persist for the next 1-3 weeks until such time that inflows begin to recede.
