2022 Ottawa River Spring Freshet Review
Bulletins posted on 2022-06-28 by Ottawa River Regulating Committee
The freshet started in early April and lasted for approximately 7 weeks. It was characterized by average peaks but higher flow volume due to the above-average snow pack in the northern part of the basin. From mid-May onwards, unusually high precipitation in some portions of the basin led to elevated water levels along the main stem of the Ottawa River that persist today in some locations. This bulletin provides a review of the 2022 Spring Freshet in the Ottawa River basin and the precipitation received over the last few weeks.
