Forecast for 2020-04-13

River conditions forecasts posted on 2020-04-13 by Ottawa River Regulating Committee

Water levels and flows in most locations on the main stem of the Ottawa River have started increasing in response to ongoing precipitation and snowmelt.  Between Fort-Coulonge and the Montreal region, levels could exceed minor flood levels in low-lying areas prone to flooding starting today or tomorrow depending on precipitation received. The minor flood level is defined as the level at which parts of some streets/roads, lawns and parks are beginning to flood, with no or few houses/buildings affected by water levels. This increase in levels is currently not expected to significantly exceed the maximum levels observed in 2018 in all locations.
