Forecast for 2021-03-26

River conditions forecasts posted on 2021-03-26 by Ottawa River Regulating Committee

Significant rainfall (20 to 40 mm) is expected over the central and southern parts of the watershed. Rainfall runoff and snowmelt water will combine to increase spring flows in the Ottawa River. Starting today, water levels are expected to begin increasing on the main stem of the Ottawa River from Lake Deschenes down to the Montreal Region. With additional precipitation forecast for Sunday, water levels and flows are expected to continue increasing into next week. Minor flooding in low-lying area could occur along the lower reach from Gatineau (Hull) down to the Montreal Region depending on the path of the precipitation and amounts received. Low-lying areas are those that are flooded regularly during the spring freshet period.
