Forecast for 2022-04-08

River conditions forecasts posted on 2022-04-08 by Ottawa River Regulating Committee

Water levels and flows on the main stem of the Ottawa River have begun increasing due to ongoing precipitation combined with snowmelt over the central and southern parts of the basin. Levels are expected to increase gradually over the coming week.  Minor flooding in low-lying areas may occur over the next week depending on the amount of precipitation received and the amount of snowmelt. Low-lying areas are those locations that regularly flood during the spring freshet period. Reservoirs throughout the basin are being used to store runoff from the northern areas.
