Forecast for 2022-04-21

River conditions forecasts posted on 2022-04-21 by Ottawa River Regulating Committee

Warmer temperatures combined with 15 to 25 mm of rainfall is forecast throughout the watershed beginning late on Saturday. Water levels and flows on the main stem of the Ottawa River between Pembroke and Lake Deschenes are expected to start increase early next week in response to combined snowmelt from the northern part of the basin and rainfall. Levels are expected to be similar to peak levels experienced in 2020 in all locations, except between Mattawa and Fort-Coulonge where the 2020 levels could be slightly exceeded. Reservoirs throughout the basin will be used to partially store runoff from the northern areas.
