Forecast for 2022-05-31

River conditions forecasts posted on 2022-05-31 by Ottawa River Regulating Committee

Due to above normal precipitation in the upper Ottawa River basin since mid-May, reservoirs continue to allow a large portion of the northern runoff to flow to downstream areas to maintain reservoir levels within acceptable limits. Along the main stem of the Ottawa River, because of increased water from the north and runoff from recent precipitation over the central portion of the basin, flows and levels have increased over the last few days and are above normal for this time of the year. Flows and levels are stabilizing or have started to decline in most locations. With no significant forecast precipitation, levels and flows are expected to decline in all locations along the main stem of the Ottawa River over the coming week.
