Forecast for 2024-03-12

River conditions forecasts posted on 2024-03-12 by Ottawa River Regulating Committee

Flows and levels along the main stem of the Ottawa River are above normal for this time of year due to recent rainfall runoff combined with snowmelt.  This runoff is decreasing, but with forecast of slightly above normal temperatures over the next few days, the snow cover in the central portion of the basin is expected to continue to melt slowly. This will contribute to stabilizing flows and levels over the next few days. Flows and levels are expected to remain above normal in most locations over the coming days, but should start decreasing later this week.
