River condition forecast on 2017-05-13

River conditions forecasts posted on 2017-05-13 by Ottawa River Regulation Planning Board

Heavily flooded areas should be free of high water by Monday of next week in most locations along the main stem of the Ottawa River between Lac Coulonge down to the Hawkesbury/Grenville area. Water level decline is expected to continue throughout the coming week but could be slightly slowed due to forecast rainfall (5 to 15 mm) over the weekend. The typical “second peak flood period” that is associated with snowmelt from the north will not occur this year and has been retained by northern reservoirs. Residents in low lying areas are encouraged to continue to closely watch for updates in forecasts.
